The center of Modena, rich in history and with ancient palaces, represents a gluttonous occasion for those who love shopping and are partial to the great cuisine of Emilia, exquisitely prepared by the most talented chefs of the Baia del Re Restaurant adjacent to the hotel and the Fini Restaurant.
If you love culinary specialties, walk along the Corso Canalchiaro colonnade and wander through the premises of Premiata Salumeria San Francesco, in operation since the beginning of the last century, one of the shops that make quality their raison d'etre.
However, Modena is also capable of surprises away from the table. Its heart still bears the ancient medieval imprint, with the Romanesque profiles of the Duomo [cathedral] and the Ghirlandina Tower, symbol of the city along with Piazza Grande.
We also recommend visiting the Palazzo dei Musei, 18th century dwelling that houses the Estense Art Gallery, the Civic Museums, where you can admire the masterpieces of Modena, and the famous Estense Library with its precious illuminated manuscripts.
Along Corso Canal Grande, beyond the Municipal Theater named after the maestro Luciano Pavarotti, you arrive in front of the facade of the Ducal Palace, once the urban hub and administrative center of Modena, today headquarters of the Military Academy, one of the most important Italian institutions.

How To Reach Us
By Train. From the Modena train station, get to the bus station and from there proceed towards the hotel using the suburban coach towards Vignola (730/731/700), which stops about 100 yards from the hotel; purchase a ticket on the coach or in the station.
By Air. The Bologna Marconi airport is 22 miles away. By car, follow the directions for the ring road and Borgo Panigale exit, get on highway A1 in the direction of Milan; exit at Modena Sud; you will then find yourself on Strada Vignolese where, after about 220 yards our hotel awaits.
By Car. From the north, follow the Brennero highway A22 in the direction of Modena, then take highway A1 in the direction of Bologna and exit at Modena Sud. If you're coming from Milan, follow A1 in the direction of Bologna to the Modena Sud exit. In either case, once you have exited the highway at the Modena Sud exit, you will be on Strada Vignolese where our hotel awaits you 220 yards away.
